Gartner insights on brand loyalty

This week, McKenzie Worldwide is attending the Gartner Digital Marketing Conference in beautiful San Diego. We’re looking forward to a few days of insights from Gartner analysts to stay abreast of future trends, consumer attitudes and emerging technologies. If the keynote address was an example of what’s to come in the next three days of sessions, we won’t be disappointed.

The analysts took us through disruptive trends facing marketers today, such as polarization (from economic, politically and culturally), changing consumer values (did you know the #1 value today is serenity? Security is a close second), and technologies such as AI and natural language processing, promising to free us from mundane tasks so we can focus on what we do best as marketers. Gartner predicts that by 2020, 75% of 100 global consumer brands will lose 20% of their brand equity value to declining brand perception and loyalty.

From a PR perspective, we’ve all seen that brands are having an increasingly more difficult time getting noticed through the noise. Not surprising, Gartner says brands must cultivate their own ecosystems and communities, and regain consumer trust by offering control and value.

McKenzie Worldwide is here to help clients deliver an authentic, trustworthy brand voice and we’re excited to help shape brands in the future. Given the massive, fast-moving changes in the world today, it’s an exciting time to be in marketing!
